salt/sour is in reference to the tastes, two of my fave according to my filipino (pangasinan) tongue.
“to salt” or “to sour” something is often accomplished by “sprinkling” it.
this is the origin of “sprinkle me” (for you lesser life forms not familiar with that bay area vernacular) which means to spread or pass on the knowledge (“the knowledge”).
